Founder Kenyatta Rucker shares the heart behind She Wins Totally Inc. — a nonprofit born from personal experience, community need, and an unshakeable belief that every woman deserves to win.
She Wins Totally Inc. was not born in a boardroom or a grant meeting. It was born in the middle of a storm — in the kind of moment when everything you thought you knew about yourself gets tested, and you have to decide who you are going to be on the other side.
My name is Kenyatta Rucker, and I founded She Wins Totally because I have lived the story that so many women in our community are living right now. I have faced the judicial system. I have faced homelessness. I have faced the feeling of being invisible — of needing help and not knowing where to turn. And I have also faced the other side of that: the moment when someone believed in me, when a door opened, when I realized that I was not just surviving — I was building.
Why "She Wins Totally"?
The name comes from a simple truth: she never gives up. Not the woman who is sleeping in her car tonight. Not the woman who just lost her job. Not the woman who is raising children alone while fighting her own battles. Not the woman who has been told, in a hundred different ways, that she is not enough.
She keeps going. She finds a way. And when she wins — she wins totally.
What We Do
Every week, She Wins Totally shows up. We distribute groceries to over 100 people in St. Petersburg. We hold empowerment events where women can be seen, celebrated, and connected. We partner with organizations like GTE Financial to offer financial literacy classes, and with The Well for Life to provide mental health support. We connect women with rental assistance, workforce programs, housing resources, and more.
We do this not because it is easy — it is not — but because every woman deserves to have someone in her corner.
A Community Built on Real Love
What makes She Wins Totally different is not a program or a service. It is the spirit behind everything we do. We are not here to manage people's problems. We are here to walk alongside women as they discover their own strength, their own voice, and their own path forward.
If you are reading this and you are in the middle of your storm — I want you to know: you are not alone. We see you. We believe in you. And we are here.
Because she never gives up. And neither do we.
